Carmen Moreno was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, in 1975. The youngest of ten siblings. At thirteen years old, she migrated to the United States and has called it home ever since.

Carmen arrived in the United States as a young girl. After living in New Mexico with her older sister, they eventually settled in Longmont, Colorado, where she graduated from high school and has lived for decades since. After years of working countless jobs defined by limited opportunity, poor benefits, and low pay, Carmen managed to open her own business. Her taco truck has since become a staple in her community, serving customers five days a week.
